We are currently seeking a West Region Reliability Center Mechanical Specialist that will be based at our Pittsburg, CA location.
Position overview:
Provide hands-on, advanced mechanical maintenance, troubleshooting and upgrades on a variety of Air Separation, CO2 & Hydrogen plant rotating and fixed equipment. Responsible for the major repair and overhauls of large centrifugal, reciprocating & screw compressors, centrifugal pumps, synchronous & induction motors, high-speed gearboxes, heat exchangers, cryogenic interchangers, cooling towers, piping systems and other related process equipment with a continuous focus on improving equipment and process reliability for multiple plant locations within the geographic region. Responsible to lead, plan, & execute large scale plant equipment maintenance.
Requirements:
The Mechanical Reliability Specialist is not a trainee position. The successful candidate will possess the needed knowledge and skills to deliver results at a high level of competency. Strong communications, math and computer skills a must. Expert knowledge of preventative & predictive maintenance, emergent repair and troubleshooting procedures for rotating/reciprocating compressors and fixed mechanical equipment is required. Ability to use all precision measuring devices such as micrometers, dial indicators, calipers, etc. Capable of performing complicated multi-train equipment alignments utilizing lasers, optics and dial indicators. Working knowledge of all machine shop tools and equipment. Skilled in rigging and critical crane lifts. Must possess excellent organization, documentation & record keeping skills. Familiarity of computerized maintenance management systems. Must be able to communicate both verbally and electronically with all levels in the organization. Approximately 30% out of town travel & overtime is required. On call - 24/7 accessibility
• Associates Degree or 5 years hands-on experience in a mechanical maintenance and /or field repair/OEM erector position
• Completion of a 4-year machinist/ millwright apprenticeship in a job shop environment is highly desirable.
• Extensive knowledge of maintenance and repair procedures, clearances and tolerances for rotating/ reciprocating compression equipment
• Hands on experience of vibration analysis & dynamic balancing a plus
