Applications are invited for the position of Reliability Engineer in the Operations Group, reporting to the Assistant Vice President Systems Reliability Engineer, System Reliability.
Job Description: Assist and advise on all matters related to reliability engineering projects for the Generation Plant.
- Analyze plant failures to determine root causes with recommendations (Facilitate Root Cause Analysis Workshops)
- Investigate unplanned events and facilitate a permanent resolution across like equipment
- Facilitate identification and bridging of any gaps between existing skills/roles and updated maintenance strategies
- Manage projects to improve Reliability
- Offer direction to Quality Control/Quality Assurance processes
- Manage plant incidents via an Incident Management System
- Assist with the development of procedures that improve Reliability as required
- Oversee the approval process for changes to asset management business strategy
- Maintain software systems that house business strategies (PMO) and populate planning systems (Avantis)
- Analyze the downtime and loss reporting system to provide insight into areas of improvement opportunity.
- Continually bring leading edge solutions to maintenance and reliability via ongoing professional development in the field
- Liaise with suppliers and contractors regarding reliability, efficiency and maintainability
- Perform other functions within the scope of the position
Required Education & Work Experience:
- The successful candidate must have Engineering degree from a recognized University or equivalent qualification, satisfying the requirement for registration as a professional or chartered engineer.
- A minimum 7 - 10 years experience in the field of Mechanical engineering, five of those years at a leadership level.
- Strong experience is required in leading Root Cause Analysis workshops, primarily of mechanical equipment, from conception to conclusion. Solid experience in the operations, maintenance, and trouble shooting on a wide range of large diesel engines, electrical, auxiliary and control systems are also key. Proven track record of successful project management related to diesel and gas turbine electric generating plant; supervisory and operational experience would be an asset.

- The successful candidate must be prepared to adhere to the ethical standards required by the Professional Engineers Registration Act of Bermuda.
