Job: Senior Reliability Leader - North Canton, OH

As a Senior Reliability Engineer with Diebold Inc, you will be responsible for planning, supervising, conducting, and reporting on Reliability Engineering tasks, in support of design and reliability improvement/control efforts. You will be have the opportunity to work on large-scale, multi-task, project-related Reliability Engineering Efforts in support of new or enhancement-type design efforts.

Some essential functions of this position include:

  • Achieve individual and organizational objectives/goals while adhering to established Corporate Quality System 
  • Establish RAM Standards and Specifications in appropriate design documents 
  • Provide direction in making predictions, allocations, and estimates of RAM and associated parameters using theoretical and empirical methods 
  • Plan and supervise Design Qualification testing, ie.; Structured Engineering Testing (SET), Reliability Growth Testing (RGT), Reliability Demonstration Testing (RDT), and Production Reliability Acceptance Testing (PRAT) 
  • Participate in Field/In-House Audits and product staging, participate in formal and informal Design Reviews and in Hardware and Firmware qualification tasks 
  • Perform appropriate analyses on laboratory test and field performance data 
  • Participate in failure-analysis and corrective action activities 
  • Evaluate suppliers, purchased materials, parts, subassemblies, and services for RAM capabilities and conformance 
  • Provide technical assistance, as required, to Design Groups and QA/QC concerning applications of probability statistics, design of experiments, test planning and sampling plans 
  • Participate in firmware qualification tasks 
  • Provide interim back-up, as required, to support other related activities in the Reliability Engineering Group



  • A Bachelor’s degree is required; Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering or Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering is preferred 
  • At least three years of experience as a Reliability Engineer or five years as a Quality Engineer is required 
  • Sufficient and appropriate experience in the assurance sciences (RE, PA, QA, & QC) is highly desirable, but not mandatory 
  • ASQ certification as an RE or QE and evidence of thorough working knowledge of Probability and Statistics are desirable but not mandatory 
  • Six sigma green belt training is required 
  • Six sigma certification is desirable but not mandatory
