Ensure Funding for Ultrasound Program Remains Intact

July 31, 2012
(Ultrasonics)

A huge challenge for maintenance planners is keeping budget in place to justify expanding their ultrasound programme. There is one simple rule to remember. Document every valuable find and make sure management knows the benefit. How much did it save in dollars? How much did it save in downtime? Did it create a safer workplace? Small wins add up so don’t just focus on the million dollar ideas. Report everything.

Remember, when it comes to budget cuts management is not interested in what the technology is or how it works. They simply want to know how much profit it added to the bottom line. That last statement is important. Don’t say “ultrasound saved the company this much” rather say “ultrasound added this much profit for the company.”

Follow this simple advice and ensure funding for your ultrasound programme remains INTACT!
