Maintenance and Reliability (Asset Management) Strategies

February 27, 2012
(Asset Management)

Healthcare professionals recommend having an annual physical. This is great, since a professional will examine your health in an unbiased way.

The same is true about maintenance and reliability (asset management) strategies.

At least annually a company needs to:

  • Step back and examine what has been accomplished
  • The current progress
  • The next milestones

If possible use an outsider, since most organizations have strong ownership of their strategy and may minimize or even ignore negative trends. If you have a corporate maintenance staff or other plants, they can provide an outside perspective. Having participated in many of these assessments, the findings are always insightful.

The findings point out opportunities and provide priorities so that improvements can maximize your return on investment. Conducting an annual checkup, will help you progress to “best in class” performance more quickly.

Good Luck on your Journey to Excellence.
