Understanding Moisture Contamination, Inside-Out

Color changing desiccant breathers promote condition-based replacements. During normal breathing cycles the desiccant begins to change color near the bottom of the breather and eventually travels upward until saturated. However, have you ever noticed the desiccant changing color from the top down? Not to worry, this is a good thing. This is indicative of moisture coming from within the system. Moisture in the head space of the system is being pushed out and trapped by the breather.
