Georgia-Pacific Monticello LLC is seeking a dynamic and experienced reliability leader. The Reliability Manager is responsible for improving a facility’s manufacturing performance and facility/building maintenance. This is to be accomplished by reducing machine downtime and unscheduled maintenance through improved equipment reliability. Georgia Pacific’s paper mill in Monticello, MS has been in operation since 1968, and employs 450 employees. The Monticello mill has the capability to produce over 1,000,000 tons of containerboard each year. What You Will Do In Your Role

  • Provide technical leadership to the Reliability Engineering Team members to execute cost effective preventive and predictive Asset strategies to achieve best in class availability and reliability of the plant process equipment
  • Provide resources to support equipment related loss investigations to determine casual factors and provide technical recommendations and mitigation plans to prevent reoccurrence
  • Collaborate with operations, maintenance, engineering, procurement and other identified stakeholders to drive improved asset availability and support fit for purpose training on reliability work processes and practices
  • Support equipment related data capture for analysis and trending to establish equipment health, evaluation of risk, identifying bad actors and opportunities for improvement
  • Establish and publish Reliability Key Performance Indicators to measure and improve Reliability performance of the equipment assets and reliability related work processes
  • Assess Equipment Criticalities and developing Asset Strategies to achieve cost effective reliability, availability and performance of the plant equipment
  • Ensure the facility’s assets are operating reliably, efficiently, and compliant with all safety guidelines and government regulations
  • Engage with Capital and Project Engineering to review and recommend Design for Reliability considerations for new equipment installations and equipment upgrades
  • Develop 1-year and 3-year Reliability Tactical Plan Plans to improve equipment availability and performance
  • Support Maintenance in the development of forward-looking multi-year equipment replacement and overhaul plans
  • Identify opportunities to use reliability best practices, technology, automation and Artificial Intelligence to promote cost effective asset care and performance
  • Support Maintenance in the review and rationalization and optimization of effective PM plans
  • Utilize communication skills to establish partnerships across to the site to achieve plant performance goals
  • Leading, coaching, and mentoring reliability engineers

    The Experience You Will Bring


    • Five years’ or more of experience in Maintenance, Engineering, or Operations
    • Previous experience and understanding & application of predictive maintenance technologies (i.e., vibration & oil analysis, thermography, ultrasound)
    • Previous leadership experience, including coaching and managing employees
    • Previous experience in developing and implementing improvement processes and projects
    • Previous experience & knowledge of reliability centered maintenance and ability to facilitate root cause analysis activities
    • Previous experience knowing and understanding of maintenance best practices such as shutdown planning and execution, preventative maintenance, and precision maintenance techniques

      What Will Put You Ahead

      • Three years of supervisor and leadership experience
      • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, Outlook and Power Point
      • Experience in pulp and paper industry or power generation
      • Continuous improvement experience and/or education
      • Experience utilizing Root Cause Analysis (RCA) or other similar problem-solving and analysis tools such as data analysis, pareto analysis, trending production losses, and gap closure plans
