Global Precision Maintenance Leader - Kennesaw, GA

Responsibilities: The Global Precision Maintenance Leader is responsible for developing, implementing, evaluating, and managing global standards, specifications and practices for world class precision maintenance best practices which reduce Novelis unplanned equipment downtime and support our global Focused 5 targets. The incumbent will work with Corporate, Regional and plant SME’s to be a leader with thorough knowledge and advanced skills in mechanical, electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic equipment. This person will also be responsible for documenting, demonstrating, presenting and training others in world class maintenance and reliability machinery standards consisting of: • Accurate fits and tolerance at operating temperature • Precise construction of level equipment foundations and base plates • Clean and contaminant-free lubricant standards • Distortion-free equipment for its entire life • Rotating parts running true to center • Forces and loads into rigid mounts and supports • Precision Laser alignment of shafts and belts • High quality balancing of rotating machinery parts • Low total machine vibration • Correct torques and tensions in all components • Precision installation of components such as bearings, gears, seals, shafts, belts, etc • Identification of the correct tools required for precision maintenance • Component failure cause removal and analysis to increase equipment reliability • Mean Time Between Failure extension best practices • Proof-tests that precision maintenance standards have been achieved

Other Responsibilities Include: • Implement a process to identify, prioritize, and check compliance of precision maintenance standards and specifications. i. Identify internally and externally best in class precision maintenance resources and utilize those resources to develop and prioritize the standards, methods and practices required for implementation of world-class precision maintenance standards. • Develop and Implement a Global Standards and Precision Maintenance Standards System. i. Develop a vision and strategy for implementing precision maintenance standards globally. ii. Work with corporate, region and plant SME’s to develop world class precision maintenance standards. iii. Coordinate of Pilot implementations, roadmaps and priorities alignments iv. Alignment on goals, work progress, major roadblocks and accomplishments v. Ensure site-specific implementation plan is developed and executed at each Novelis site. vi. Regularly share precision maintenance standards on a global basis. vii. Institute and lead regular networking meetings for Novelis precision maintenance standards and best practices.

Qualifications: - Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Maintenance, Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering or other related discipline. - 10 years direct work experience in the utilization and development of precision maintenance best practices within a manufacturing environment. - Ability to work in a team or autonomously to achieve project and work assignment requirements - Ability to travel globally 50% percent of the time on average - Ability to interpret schematics and equipment manuals - Strong attention to detail - Ability to manage multiple priorities - Adhere to plant safety and sanitation requirements - Analyze knowledge and process data to made decisions on necessary precision maintenance improvements and progress across plants, regions and globally. - Strong computer skills required; Microsoft Office Excel proficiency as well as Computerized Maintenance Management Systems experience preferred. - Properly use precision tools (micrometer, torque wrench, pi tape etc) - Training and knowledge of Predictive Maintenance Technologies such as vibration analysis, thermography, lubrication, ultrasound, laser alignment, rotating equipment balancing, electrical motor testing.

Preferred Qualifications:

- Ability to develop and teach precision maintenance courses - Strong oral communication and interpersonal skills - Work experience in the steel or aluminum industries - Certified Maintenance and Reliability Technician (CMRT) by SMRP.ORG - Certified Maintenance and Reliability Professional (CMRP) by SMRP.ORG
