The U.S. Maintenance & Reliability Manager is accountable for the maintenance and reliability function at the U.S. manufacturing facilities located in Phillipsburg, NJ and Paris, KY. He/she is responsible for establishing a U.S. plant network maintenance and reliability framework, building objective metrics based on industry benchmarks and executing on gaps between benchmarks and the current performance of the sites. The U.S. Maintenance & Reliability Manager is responsible for proactively maintaining the sites’ facilities and equipment and optimizing maintenance and reliability spend/cost. He/she works closely with production/engineering to support equipment reliability improvement, routine maintenance and unscheduled work via Avantor resources and coordinates with outside contractors.

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to, the following:

Leads the repair, maintenance and reliability of the plant production, utilities, distribution and waste water treatment facilities Establishes, executes and optimizes the site Preventive Maintenance (PM) and Process Safety Management (PSM) systems in compliance with the site cGMP, ISO, and regulatory requirements Partners with production/engineering to establish reliability plans addressing critical operating equipment risk. Manages relationships with contractors and other service providers Ensures compliance with health and safety policies and work is conducted in a safe manner at all times Monitors expenses and controls the site maintenance budget and MRO Storeroom spend; works to improve the ratio of planned work to break in work and partners with production to improve the work order specificity and maximize in unit maintenance Establishes key performance metrics, drives productivity and continuous improvement and maintains maintenance equipment records and reports Assists with the new installations of capital projects Builds site maintenance and reliability teams to coordinate maintenance activities within departments that use common production equipment, methods and standards over a multiple shift period Participates on multi-functional project teams as required Performs other duties as assigned with or without accommodation

Each employee is responsible to manage their departments and perform their defined tasks in order to comply with and maintain the sites’ ISO 9000/1400 certification and all safety and regulatory requirements and is expected to shut down the operation and notify management if questions regarding compliance or other issues requiring additional attention arise. Regulatory requirements include, but are not limited to cGMP’s, EPA, OSHA, DEA, DOT, and any other applicable local, governmental and company guidelines.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: Education: Bachelor’s level degree in mechanical or electrical engineering or related field required Experience: Minimum of ten (10) years of experience in maintenance/reliability, engineering and/or manufacturing required

Experience utilizing Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) concepts required In-depth knowledge of industry and regulatory standards required Experience with Root Cause Analysis required Experience utilizing process improvement methods required
