Byers Engineering Company Announces the Appointment of New COO

Byers Engineering Company, a privately held Atlanta-based company that does business nationally, announces the appointment of Timothy H. Parker as Chief Operating Officer. Parker previously served as President of the company’s Engineering Services Division. Byers also announces the March 31 retirement of N. Allen Robertson, President of the company’s SpatialAge® Solutions Division, who has been with the firm since its founding in 1971.

“Allen has been a vital part of this firm and its growth, and we wish him well in retirement,” says Kenneth G. Byers, Jr., Founder and Chairman of the 42-year-old company. “His retirement opened a natural opportunity for restructuring, and we’re looking forward to Tim Parker’s increased responsibility within the firm. We’ve had two divisions and, through emerging technologies, we have seen the services blend. So the two divisions – Engineering Services and SpatialAge Solutions – will now become one.”

“I am proud to be a founding employee of Byers Engineering Company, and it has been a privilege to help grow this organization,” Robertson says. “And it is nice to know I pass the torch into such capable hands. Byers has always taken an active approach to developing employees, many of whom – like me and like Tim – have a long history with the company. That ensures that even times of change are seamless for our valued clients.”

Robertson previously managed both the firm’s SpatialAge Solutions and Engineering Services Divisions, becoming the President of the Engineering Services Division in 1984. He holds a BIE degree from Georgia Tech and an MBA from Georgia State and has served on numerous boards at Georgia Tech, including a term as President of the Georgia Tech Alumni Association.

“I am honored to take on a new role at Byers and especially proud to be part of the team that moves this company through its latest evolution,” says Parker. “It is through constant evolution – including the way in which we structure the organization – that we continue to ensure the success of our clients and their customers.”

Parker joined Byers Engineering Company in 1979 as a telecommunications field engineer and has progressed through the ranks. He earned a BBA in management with honors from Kennesaw State University and later a MS in the management of technology from Georgia Tech.
