CONEXPO 2014 Proves Thought Provoking For James Dawson As It Plans Launch Of Innovative New Products

CONEXPO 2014 attracted almost 130,000 visitors, with records set for the number of firms exhibiting – approximately 2,400 – and the expanse of exhibition space at the Las Vegas Convention Center.

International registrants accounted for almost a quarter of those in attendance, with around 31,000 visitors coming from outside the USA.

James Dawson, whose customers include global giants Caterpillar, JCB and Cummins and other major OEMs around the world, felt that the event was a great success from a business development, networking and learning point of view.

“We got to see a great deal of new products, innovations and projects, all of which gave us some great ideasin terms of how we will go about launching the innovative new solutions we are currently in the process of developing.

“The show also had a real international feel, giving us a chance to catch up with customers and meet with potential new customersto discuss our activities and the status of markets around the world.”

During 2013, James Dawson reviewed its organisational structure with the aim of delivering more focussed solutions and customer responsiveness.

This culminated in the creation of dedicated NPI and Applications Engineering Teams to better support and add value to the customer. The creation of a dedicated R&D team focusing on material and product innovation will ensure both the company and its customers remained at the forefront of technological development in the future.

Headed up by Director of Technology and Innovation Richard Turner, the creation of this team demonstrates the company’s commitment to product innovation which customers, old and new, will benefit from in both the short and long term.

James Dawson develops and manufactures high performance silicone and organic rubber hoses for a wide range of diverse markets, significantly diesel engine applications.
