Extech BR200 Video Borescope/Wireless Inspection Camera Wins NECA Showstopper Award
About the Winning Product
Installation, inspection and diagnostic jobs often require access to hard-to-reach or -see areas. Professionals from a wide range of industries are using Extech’s wireless video inspection borescope cameras to access tight spots with the added capability to record 2 GB of video or capture JPEG images. The affordable BR200 and the related BR250 are invaluable for simplifying diagnostics and documenting inspections.
Unlike other video borescopes on the market, the BR200 expands its versatility with a detachable 3.5” color display. Now, users can position the borescope as needed to access a difficult location without losing sight of the display. The monitor can be handheld and kept in direct view or affixed to any metallic surface using its magnet mount). Alternatively, for inspection sites near hazardous or moving components, take the wireless monitor and inspect conditions remotely from over 30ft (10m) away.
Customers are using the BR200 for a variety of jobs: inspecting wall cavities for moisture, insect infestation, electrical wiring and water pipe location; inspecting ducts and obscured areas behind motors and compressors; automotive access around tight engine bays; safety and security inspections, weld inspections, and industrial machinery inspections (gearboxes, molding machines, cylinder bores, etc.).
Captured video (960 x 240 AVI) and images (640 x 480 JPEG) can be viewed on the unit’s monitor, or transferred to a computer via the 2GB SD card or USB cable (both included). Additionally, video can be fed to an external monitor using the BR200’s video-out jack.
The BR200 features a waterproof (IP67-rated) 17mm diameter camera with a 50° viewing angle and adjustable LED lighting. (A 9mm diameter camera is available on the BR250 model for narrower job requirements.) The camera is mounted to a 39” (1m) flexible gooseneck cable which easily retains a fixed shape and up to two optional extension cables can be added to extend the cable length to 9ft 7in (2.92m).
The BR200 comes in a hard carrying case complete with extension attachment tools (45° mirror, hook, and magnet), magnetic base stand, microSD memory card and adaptor, USB and video cables, AC adaptor, rechargeable display battery and 4 AA batteries. The suggested retail price for the BR200 is $299.99. For more information, contact Extech Instruments at 781-890-7440 or visit www.extech.com/instruments.
