by Mark Kingkade, Rotating Equipment Specialist
With the advances of vibration analysis tools, equipment and training over the years and the fact that some programs have been around for decades now, this presentation is intended to open a discussion to help answer the question, Is your vibration program Old or Maturing‚? We will take a look at how the programs were developed and designed, how the data is collected and organized and how the data is analyzed and used. As the pool of skilled trades people is shrinking and those in the field of vibration analysis and predictive maintenance are aging it is straining some organization resources. This is not a discussion as to what is right or wrong according to the vast amount of resources out there but more about what works for you and your organization. It's a look at where your program started, where it is now and where it is going based your needs and resources. The goal of this presentation is to help you take a look at your program as it stands today and review how it got there. Decide where you want to go or if it is where it needs to be today to meet your requirement, or what you need to do to get where you want to be.
