Keep Moisture out of Gearboxes in High-Humidity Environments or Washdown Areas
03 February 2015
Protecting your gearbox from ingression of moisture and particulates can prolong lubricant life and reduce maintenance costs.
Some of the more challenging environments to operate equipment involve constant high humidity or washdown areas. The need to consistently clean equipment in a food processing facility or being in a naturally high-humidity environment like a paper mill requires additional considerations to protect equipment.
In these environments, using a desiccant breather with internal check valves create a sealed system that "breathes" only when necessary-reducing the frequency of breather replacements.
