These robust assemblies are constructed using L-com’s IP68 ruggedized RJ45 plugs and jacks and feature crush resistant metal armor. They are designed for use in outdoor and industrial and military applications where the harshest environments exist.
“Harsh environments present many connectivity challenges. These include exposure to EMI/RFI, sun, moisture and chemicals,” said David Gallagher, Product Manager. “Our new IP68 armored cable assemblies add to our wide variety of solutions for extreme network connectivity applications.”
The six new cable assembly families from L-com are: TRD8RGMT1-, TRD8RGMT2-, TRD8RGMT3-, TRD8RGMT4-, TRD8RGMT5-, and TRD8RGMT6-. These assemblies use a Category 5e cable that is double shielded, high-flex, as well as UV and oil resistant. They are also made with a flame retardant thermoplastic elastomer (FR-TPE) jacket that is CMX outdoor rated. The metal armor protects the cable from impact damage and offers 1,500 pounds per square inch crush resistance.
Superior shielding of both the cable and connectors ensures higher data transmission rates up to gigabit Ethernet speeds. To suit every need, L-com also offers all plug and jack combinations off-the-shelf in both zinc nickel and anodized aluminum finishes.
