Do you know what to listen for when inspecting your gearbox/reducers? Listen for abnormal noise. Noise inspection should focus on change in sound. Use an industrial stethoscope if necessary. If you don't have a stethoscope, you may also use a wooden stick to listen for noise.
Excessive noise may be due to:
- Misalignment
- Poor lubrication
- Worn/Failed Bearings
- Worn/damaged Gear teeth
Although gear-reducer is making noise, make sure that condition is not caused from other system problems, such as:
- Fluctuation in drive speed
- Coupling wear
