This presentation looks at low speed vibration measurements and the challenges of using accelerometers to accurately reproduce low speed (<600 rpm), low amplitude vibration signals. The relationship between acceleration, velocity and displacement is explained and a comparison of the voltage levels for the same signal is investigated. The importance of dynamic range and noise floor parameters is described as well as their influence on the results.
3 Key Learning Points:
- The importance of sensitivity
- The role dynamic range plays
- The significance of noise floor values
