MW-2020 Presentation 19:11 Minutes
by Zakiya Ming , Encore Boston Harbor and Ray Miciek, Aquitas Solutions
Encore Boston Harbor is a luxury resort; complete with large multi-level casino, a hotel with 671 deluxe rooms, 12 restaurants, retail locations, luxury spa, expansive 33 acre exterior grounds, a 50,000 square foot event center and the largest gaming floor on the east coast. On June 23, 2019, the five-star $2.6 billion Encore Boston Harbor, owned by Wynn Resorts, officially opened its doors to the public.
Their Maximo implementation project began in October of 2017 as a true "green field" implementation that posed a number of unique challenges and integrations into Encore's procurement and work management systems. Starting from scratch with no data and rigorous casino security regulations made it imperative for the project team to effectively leverage best practices and be flexible and able to handle challenges and changes along the way. Maximo has been live since April 2019 and is used efficiently by all staff. While there is still more integration work to do, the implementation has met every milestone and deliverable on-time and significantly under budget.
Aquitas Solutions is a leading provider of Enterprise Asset Management (EAM) and IoT solutions that optimize asset intensive industries. Aquitas prides itself on working strategically and collaboratively with the top globally recognized EAM and IoT platform solution providers to heighten business value and bring bottom-line benefits to their clients.
Program Highlights:
In August of 2017, Encore selected Aquitas Solutions to complete the implementation of Maximo. The project began in October of 2017, Maximo went live in April of 2019, and the project is currently still in progress and significantly under budget. The primary focus of the Maximo implementation was the effective use of the Work Management module including the implementation of Maximo Everyplace as a mobile solution.
The project also included an integration into a system called FCS, a "front of house" system used by the Encore housekeeping staff to record issues with rooms or other public spaces.
Another piece of the implementation was the installation of the Fire Command Center (FCC). Created initially to document alarms and calls during the final months of construction, the Fire Command Center has been manned 24/7 since the building began operating in November of 2018 and is now used alongside Maximo. When a call comes in, they immediately create a service request and then a work order in Maximo to dispatch maintenance.
The team met or beat every milestone during the project despite very difficult security restrictions on access to Encore systems, requiring much more onsite work than anticipated.
