Oceania Dairy Leverages eRPortal for Enterprise Asset and Materials Management
eRPortal Software Group, a provider of SaaS and OnPremise software solutions for managing strategic assets and operations, today announced that Oceania Dairy, a leading New Zealand dairy exporter, deployed eRPortal’s CMMS and Asset Management software suite as part of its enterprise asset and materials management strategy.
eRPortal Software also published a blog revealing the top issues facing food and beverage manufacturers and best practices for process management - optimizing operations, maintaining assets and infrastructure, and managing materials, resources, and logistics.
In early 2013, Inner Mongolia Yili Industrial Group (Yili), China’s largest dairy company, purchased the assets of Oceania Dairy. Yili produces and distributes dairy products and mixed feedstuffs, including milk powder for infants, for distribution primarily in domestic Chinese markets. Following the purchase of Oceania, Yili commenced development of a $236 million infant formula milk processing plant in New Zealand. This state-of-the-art plant produces a range of milk powder for export to China were it is used in a range of finished products, including infant formula, consumer milk powders, yogurt, and ice cream.
“The eRPortal team has been very flexible with adapting standard packages to fit our business. The team has a ‘how can we make it work’ attitude which has and continues to be a pleasure to work with,” said Eddie Grace, Maintenance Services Manager, at Oceania Dairy.
Industrial Controls South Canterbury Ltd, one of New Zealand’s largest systems integrators, worked with eRPortal to deploy the product suite in early 2014, and Oceania Dairy has been using it to optimize production equipment and operations uptime ever since. They can create PM schedules, condition-based maintenance schedules, and proactively track the health of all plant assets by using computerized maintenance management system (CMMS) technology tightly coupled with their industrial control system.
“The Oceania Dairy success story illustrates how manufacturing facilities can maintain uptime, ensure safety, and reduce costs for greater bottom line impact,” said Ed Garibian, president of eRPortal Software Group. “Oceania Dairy also demonstrates the fact that highly efficient manufacturing is achieved through integration of production systems with work order preventative and condition-based maintenance applications.”
