Organizations are increasingly recognizing the need for operational readiness, also known as O&M Ready. This crucial yet often overlooked phase bridges the gap between project delivery and sustained operational excellence, ensuring assets and systems are prepared to perform from day one. At Palm Beach County Water Utilities Department, operational readiness is at the heart of the organization’s continuous improvement efforts and is one of the critical components of the organization’s Asset Management System. Key to this is how data is used from the perspective of the technicians on their day-to-day work to senior leadership that strategizes long-term capital improvement projects.
