PCB Load & Torque Holds Technical Load Cell Seminar

PCB Load & Torque, a subsidiary of PCB Piezotronics, held a technical load cell seminar last week that drew a crowd of automotive professionals from all over the country. The seminar was the second technical overview seminar hosted by PCB Load & Torque, and due to the overwhelming success, the company will be planning additional seminars in the coming months.

The seminar included a technical presentation by Engineering Manager Domenic El-Achkar, hands-on product demonstrations by Product Marketing Manager Ken Watkins, a calibration demonstration by Electronics Engineer Steve Carion, a facility tour and lunch. The primary topic was basic load cell technology, including a technical overview of strain gages,  aspects of load cell performance, and measurement techniques.

Attendees took away practical  knowledge that will help them in their jobs. Key takeaways included the basics of strain gages, load cell manufacturing specifics, how to choose the right load cell, and measurement techniques.

“We were thrilled by the high attendee turnout,” said El-Achkar. “We view these events as valuable opportunities where we can not only share our expertise, but learn more about our customers and their needs.”

The company’s competitively priced line of high-quality load cells are widely used for structural and vehicle durability testing in automotive and aerospace markets. Other applications include quality control,  material and component lifecycle testing, to name a few.

In the works is another technical seminar to be held in December in Farmington Hills, Mich. The topic will be telemetry.
