PowerHawke, Inc. Broadens Arc Flash Product and Service Offering
“We are excited about our new partnership with IRISS and believe the addition of this product line to our assessment, engineering, testing and mitigation services will provide great value to our customers. IRISS is the industry leader, a world class manufacturer and provides a product line that also includes an unconditional lifetime warranty. That’s a caliber that matches who we are and what were all about,” says Mike Balinskas, General Manager of PowerHawke, Inc. “We believe this supports our growing arc flash engineering position in the market and allows us to continue to deliver superior solutions to our growing client base.”
The IRISS technology uses a patented polymer technology that allows proper emissivity characteristics while electrical conditions are being observed with special IR cameras by PowerHawke’s certified Thermographers. The installation of these windows is generally done in a short time frame while the electrical equipment is in a de-energized state. PowerHawke’s strategy is to integrate these directly into the customized, multi-year preventive maintenance service offerings that it provides customers.
“Customer are looking for cost-effective mitigation options when it comes to arc flash and plans to reduce those risks are being implemented each day,” says Bob O’Meara, Sales Manager for PowerHawke. “Our ability to immediately integrate this leading technology into our mitigation solutions for preventive electrical maintenance raises the bar and keeps us and correspondingly our customers at the forefront of operations and safety. We are looking forward to being able to engineer this enhancement into the critical power systems of our diverse customer base and continue to help companies keep workers safe.”
With more than 10,000 individual pieces of equipment inspected each year utilizing Infrared Thermography, PowerHawke works at the forefront of preventive services and electrical safety. As arc flash/blast and its devastating consequences increases in its understanding in the mainstream of building and facilities management, mitigation techniques utilizing IR windows provide a substantial reduction in the possibility of flash or blast from an electrical accident during the act of opening electrical equipment for inspection.
