9. Maximo Award, Best Maximo Connected Workforce: Stena Drilling Ltd & Cohesive
Stena Drilling and Cohesive worked together to deliver the first implementation of the Maximo Application Suite (MAS) designed to enable use of the enterprise asset management platform in an offline environment.
This successful project was recognized with the Best Maximo Connected Workforce Award, rewarding the efforts of both Stena Drilling's Maximo team and Cohesive.
The project consisted of an upgrade from Maximo7.6.1.3, including the implementation of Cohesive's proprietary Data Utility (CDU) and Data Replication (CDR) applications to ensure a smooth upgrade despite the offshore environment.
Stena Drilling has seven Maximo environments, one, its central instance, hosted in the cloud, and six remote instances on its offshore vessels. Due to lack of connectivity, these remote instances are sometimes used in an offline state.
The CDU helped eliminate downtime during the upgrade and data migration process, while the CDR application supports major Maximo environments when working offline. As a result, there were no interruptions to Stena's operations at any point during the upgrade.
The upgrade went live in April 2025.
