The IoT is changing how the world is handling information. The goal is to take many of the processes and analytics previously performed in stand-alone systems and have the same functionality performed in the sensor. Instead of just being a device that provides raw data, the goal is to have the sensor become the parameter detection unit and the processor of that data.
