Join in for a review of the discovery, study and solution of the effects of vibrations on the large structures of a Hydroelectric Dam. This presentation will cover the different tools used to capture transient events, model and analyze the effects on structures, and installations to correct the vibrations or prevent damage to plant equipment. The District utilized CFD, FEA, audio and video recordings, modal analysis and motion amplification in their evaluation of dynamics in Pump Intake Bells, 66” Pipelines and their main Turbine and Generator Powertrains.
