VP of Architecture (Software Engineering)

What we expect from you

At least 7 years of experience as a backend engineer/architect, leadership experience preferred. Deep knowledge of backend technologies, experience integrating with front and mobile applications via API, and openness to full-stack development and design. Work with product managers and technical teams in a cross-functional environment, to implement high-quality products that meet business goals. Great management and team development skills: ability to set goals for a team and every one of its members, delegate intelligently, mentor engineers, deliver frequent and honest feedback, help team members grow in their careers and deliver results. No fear when it comes to improving technical debt. Top-notch practices of code quality, reviews, and design patterns. (Lead by example!) Ability to work with a distributed team of Spanish and English speaking engineers. Strong working ability in written Spanish and English, spoken preferred. Curiosity and a hands-on approach to work and team building. What technologies should you know?

You must have worked with most or all of the following backend technologies:

Python/Django or equivalents (e.g. Flask/FastAPI/Tornado) NodeJS AWS or similar cloud providers, including Lambda/serverless architectures PostgreSQL or other relational databases Golang (optional/nice to have) Some experience in full-stack development preferred:

VueJS Flutter/Dart for both web and mobile Nice to have career experience:

Buildout of microservices architecture/decoupling of Monorepo including implementation of Kubernetes Experience with both relational and non-relational databases in the context of microservices Experience with messaging systems (e.g. Kafka/Kinesis/SQS) Knowledge of alternative protocols to HTTP (e.g. gRPC) Modular systems design Basic DevOps/Security experience and best practices Strong experience with metrics and alerting systems (e.g. Datadog/PagerDuty)
