Whitmore Holds New Facility Grand Opening and Celebrates 120th Anniversary
Whitmore, a leading producer of component protection technology, held its new facility grand opening and celebrated its 120th Anniversary last week. The expansion adds 127,000 SF to the facility and more than doubles the overall size of the Company’s footprint in Rockwall. It’s located on the north side of Justin Rd., west of Industrial Blvd. and one mile north of Interstate 30.
“Whitmore is entering a new era of worldwide growth and establishing a solid foundation to achieve sustained success,” said Jeff Kilpatrick, President and CEO of Whitmore. The expansion includes new corporate office space, a larger Air Sentry® division production area and more warehouse space. A second building phase has already begun in the existing facility, which will include expanded production capabilities and new R&D space.

Attendees to the event included Whitmore employees, the Whitmore Board of Directors, the Whitmore management team, members of the REDC Board of Directors, Rockwall City Council members and design and construction team members from Jacobs &Associates, Architects; Cymcor, Project Management and General Contractor, Hill & Wilkinson. Speakers included Jeff Kilpatrick, President and CEO of Whitmore; Gary Martin, Chairman of Whitmore; David Sweet, Mayor of Rockwall and Congressman Ralph Hall who represents the 4th District of Texas in the U.S. House of Representatives.
Kilpatrick welcomed the attendees and expressed his gratitude to everyone who helped make the new building a reality. “We had a world class team that delivered this expansion on time and under budget,” Kilpatrick said. Congressman Hall congratulated Whitmore for reaching another milestone in Rockwall and presented Kilpatrick with a memorial American flag. Sheri Franza, President and CEO of the REDC, honored Kilpatrick with a commemorative plaque to mark the occasion. “This is a great achievement for Whitmore and Rockwall. Many thanks to all who contributed their tireless efforts to make this a fantastic facility,” said Franza.
There is no lack of growth at Whitmore. “It’s exciting to be part of a vibrant growing company with a long rich history. Earlier this year we launched our new brand identity to better reflect who we are today. And this year we are celebrating our 120th Anniversary in business. We have a lot to be thankful for, including this ideal opportunity to expand our facility in Rockwall which we are proud to call home,” added Kilpatrick.
