NEC Avio Infrared Technologies Introduces New InfReC R300 High-Performance Infrared Camera

December 2010 - NEC Avio Infrared Technologies introduces its new InfReC R300 high-definition thermal imager with a host of advanced capabilities that includes thermal movie recording to SD card in radiometric format, thermal/visible integrated images in composite/split-screen display, panoramas, autofocus and 3.1 MP visible camera. With resolution (NETD) of 0.05°C and accuracy of ±1°C (1%), the R300 is ideal for a wide range of applications, including electrical maintenance, biotechnology, semiconductors, energy audits, R&D, machinery PPM, building inspections and quality control. The R300 comes with InfReC Analyzer NS9500PRO PC software, providing comprehensive capability for real-time recording, detailed data analysis and report creation.

The R300’s 320x240 microbolometer detector provides high spatial resolution of 1.2 mrad (I.F.O.V) in a spectral range of 8 to 14 microns. The camera’s standard temperature measuring range is -40 to 500°C, with an optional high-temperature range of 200 to 2000°C available.

The R300 allows simultaneous video capture of thermal/visible images into PC via USB with real-time composite image display. The full range of recording modes includes still visual and IR images, time interval, movies, panoramas, composites and voice annotation. Optional lenses - 2x telephoto, 0.5x wide-angle, close-up, etc. - help meet a wide range of test and measurement requirements.

Other features include multi-point emissivity correction and emissivity back calculation for better accuracy, high-speed auto focusing, automatic/simultaneous temperature scaling, LED light for pinpointing objects of interest, and laser pointer for targeting.

The R300 weighs just 1.3 kg (2.8 lb) with battery, and provides an ergonomic design for easy and flexible operation in the field. A separate viewfinder with luminous and tilting LCD monitor allows the user to hold the camera and capture images in a comfortable position from any angle, using buttons situated on top of the camera’s case and rear panel.
