RDI Technologies Announces the Release of Its Next Generation Integrated, High-speed Digital Cameras
Knoxville, Tennessee – September 26, 2024 – RDI Technologies, a global leader in MotionAmplification® vibration analysis solutions, today announced the release of three new high-speed cameras, which include the FASTEC Imaging HS5i and HS7i series and the updated IrisMX™ model. The new integrated designs combine the camera and a full PC controller, allowingthe user to collect, store and process videos from a single unit.
The integrated design of these cameras offers users enhanced flexibility and ease of use. TheHS5i and HS7i cameras’ high-speed workflow optimizes productivity and decreases datadownload time. Through its unique file transport system, the HSi Series allows up to 40 Gbpsthroughput, even when saving to external drives. An optional portability kit converts to an on-the-go unit that is ideal for field work via a tablet that allows for wireless or tethered control. Thekit also includes removable handles and an articulating tablet mount for viewing and controllingthe camera. An attachable V-mount battery provides portability while the universal mountingoffers flexibility in battery options. The portability kit is also available for the IRIS MX,allowing for rapid data collection by saving video directly to the camera for post-analysiswithout the need for a connected computer.
The HS5i model, with a 12-bit CMOS sensor on a new high-performance platform, capturesimages at 2560 x 2048 resolution and 253 frames per second (fps) and up to 29,000 fps atreduced resolutions. The HS7i offers full high definition at 1920 x 1080 resolution and 2500 fpsand 35,000 fps at reduced resolutions for breathtaking slow-motion playback.
RDI’s Iris MX builds upon the flagship Iris M™ product to expand the world of MotionAmplification® to high-speed applications. The Iris MX includes up to 1400 fps in HDresolution to amplify and communicate virtually every displacement in the scene. Leveraging ahigh-speed camera for frame rates over 10,000 fps, the Iris MX’s unique capability is applyingMotion Amplification and showing motions up to 5,000 Hz to produce amount an infinitenumber of absolute measurements within the scene.
The Iris MX extends Motion Amplification to high speed and enables the user to see the faultand determine the root cause by visualizing the motion of the entire machine, its structure andbase and the surrounding environment. This enables users to diagnose machinery quickly andcomprehensively in a simple and easy-to-understand video. The video can close thecommunication gap between technical and non-technical resources and empower immediatedecision making to fix problems.
“Deploying a high-speed camera has never been easier with the streamlined workflow andflexible deployment options available with our HSi and Iris MX offerings,” said Jeff Hay, CEOof RDI Technologies. “You can record and go with the speed and accuracy needed, and ourcameras also deliver high precision in triggering for greater accuracy in industries ranging fromacademia and microfluidics to food and beverage and process manufacturing. All backed by ateam of vision, vibration analysis and Motion Amplification experts who ensure our customershave the optimal experience and support from the RDI family.”
