Fiona Ambler and Andrew Parker from Arcadis present Fleet Availability Management (FAM), a system designed to bridge the operational gap between maintenance records and real-time transit fleet readiness. While transit organizations frequently rely on IBM Maximo to track work orders and vehicle defects, simply completing a maintenance task does not guarantee a vehicle is actually ready, accessible, or in the correct location for service. FAM operates as an extension layer on top of Maximo's database, translating maintenance data into actionable operational insights and replacing manual coordination tools like spreadsheets and whiteboards. The platform creates a single source of truth that aligns the distinct perspectives of maintenance planners and depot operators.
