In 2021, SJW embarked on a multi-year EAM System implementation journey. The new system, HxGN EAM, was successfully implemented for SJW’s Distribution Systems, Operations, Treatment, Stores, and Fleet departments. This undertaking was successful due to employing strategic change management principles and resulted in the transformation of work practices, responsibilities, work execution management, and culture. Some notable program highlights include: •EAM System integration with Customer Information System, Geographic Information System (GIS), fueling system, and outside vendor systems •Interactive GIS mapping interface on desktop and mobile application to enhance work scheduling, dispatching, work executing, and defect locating •Automatic notifications triggered off of work order data to various internal and external parties, including local fire departments •Increased responsibility and ownership for field staff •Change management strategies using the ADKAR method
