MaximoWorld Presentation 27:49 Minutes
by John Todd, Total Resource Management
As an IBM® Business Partner and authorized Maximo® Cloud Service Provider (CSP), the new Maximo Application Suite (MAS) is exciting and welcomed news. This fundamental shift from the monolithic architecture of previous versions of Maximo to a modern microservices architecture leveraging OpenShift, Kubernetes, Cloud Pak for Data (CP4D), RedHat Enterprise Linux (RHEL), Docker, while being agnostic to Cloud (public, private, hybrid) or On-Prem deployments, is exactly what we as a CSP have been waiting for.
These technology platforms allow us to size and scale effectively and efficiently, as we look to onboard customers and their respective workloads. Inherent in the technology stack are High Availability and Disaster Recovery, along with a mature and proven orchestration platform that allows for operational efficiencies for our Cloud operators. These are value-add benefits that go straight to our bottom line, where it is ultimately passed on to our customers in the form of a much-improved product offering and overall experience.
Takeaways:
- Understand the key technology platforms that make up MAS
- Understand the key benefits of the MAS technology platforms
- Understand how to take these concepts to position a successful move to MAS, whether that’s as a customer, or perhaps as an internal CSP to your customers
