Association for Maintenance Professionals Creates Asset Management Standard Working Group

According to acting Chairman Terrence O’Hanlon, “I recall the reaction of many US companies that were unprepared as ISO 9000 became mainstream. The Association for Maintenance Professionals predicts that federal, state and local regulators as well as risk insurers will be quick to adopt and encourage the use of an International Asset Management Standard. We are hoping to keep our members ahead of the curve with an ISO Asset Management Standard. By creating a working group to participate in the project committee as a voting member, we are also hoping to ensure that maintenance reliability is at the center of the framework.”

Although AMP includes over 50% of its membership outside the United States, due to the country by country format of the International Standards Association (ISO) this working group is limited to USA residents and organizations. AMP does not anticipate future working groups to have geographic restrictions.

Members based in the United States who are interested in joining the AMP E53.10 Asset Management Standard Working Group should send an email to info@maintenance.org

Members outside the United States or US parties interested in direct participation in ISO Project Committees should check with their country standards associations to learn about the process.
