Rochester, N.Y., January 22, 2013. aycan, a recognized worldwide leader in medical imaging, together with YXLON International, the leading provider of X-ray inspection equipment for industrial applications, has partnered in the digital NDT image archive market with the launch of aycan NDT archive, a scalable, high performance DICONDE image archiving and distribution solution.

Designed to replace NDT film-hardcopy archives with digital archiving and long-term near-line storage, aycan NDT archive improves retention issues, image searchability, and reduces costs.

aycan is offering the solution direct to end customers, and through partner marketing relationships with companies such as YXLON.

“aycan NDT archive is an ideal choice for a digital archive system,” said Jason Robbins, Global Aerospace Program Manager at YXLON. “Used for years in the highly regulated medical imaging environment, aycan has successfully customized their aycan store (DICOM PACS) solution for this challenging industrial application where reliability, quality, and security are of key importance. We look forward to offering this solution to our customers as a cost and productivity alternative to traditional film-based systems.” aycan NDT archive’s auto-routing feature streamlines the archive workflow by automatically transferring data to any desired location. And, with industry-standard VPN encryption methods, aycan NDT archive keeps data traffic secure at all times.

“Suppliers of all types are seeking ways to improve their quality and productivity while reducing costs,” said Frank Burkhardt, aycan Director, North & Latin American Operations. “aycan NDT archive helps meets that need, allowing professionals to easily, securely, and cost effectively store, share, and review high-quality DICONDE images.”

“aycan’s expert knowledge of the DICOM and DICONDE standards will result in seamless installation of aycan NDT archive into a client’s location,” said Jason Robbins, Global Aerospace Program Manager at YXLON. “Given the combination of inspection automation and the transition to digital imaging, we expect customers to achieve tremendous productivity advancements and cost savings over film.” Customers replacing traditional film archives also achieve savings through the elimination of expenses associated with the special handling, storage, and transportation of film. aycan NDT archive also provides savings on compliance and other environmental costs associated with using chemical-based film, as well as minimizing the impact on the environment.
