WOBURN, Mass.—Global condition monitoring services company Azima DLI today announced that two of its executives will be presenting at the Fleet Maintenance & Modernization Symposium (FMMS) 2009, taking place September 29 - October 1 in San Diego, Calif. Azima DLI will also be exhibiting at the forum (booth #86) where it will provide hands-on demonstrations of its DDG Advanced Condition Monitoring System which was deployed with its US Navy pilot program. These products and services include Azima DLI’s SpriteMAX for continual online vibration monitoring, DCA-31BTM handheld data collectors and ExpertALERT condition assessment software.

Azima DLI will make two presentations at FMMS 2009. The first, entitled, “CNAF SFMVA: Ship’s Force Machine Vibe Analysis to support CBM,” will discuss how vibration analysis can be used to supplement ship’s existing condition monitoring programs. The session will explore how government agencies can utilize vibration monitoring technologies to warn engineers of potential machinery failure, prevent downtime and cut repair costs.

In the second session, “Surface Fleet Condition Assessment Pilot Program,” Azima DLI will share the results of a pilot program with the US Navy focused on improving fleet equipment reliability and reducing maintenance costs. One onshore test facility and on two guided missile destroyers, the USS Ross (DDG 71) and the USS Nitze (DDG 94), installed the Azima DLI’s DDG Advanced Condition Monitoring System to monitor the health of critical machinery. The Azima DLI system determines operating conditions and, when appropriate, tests equipment, evaluates the machines’ condition and automatically submits a maintenance action request if necessary for more than 80 machines. Results of the one year, two-ship pilot program included saving more than 1,000 annual man-hours.

The “Surface Fleet Condition Assessment Pilot Program” case study presentation will be led by Azima DLI’s Joe Van Dyke from 5:00 - 5:30 p.m. PDT on Wednesday, September 30, 2009.

The event is being held at the Town and Country Resort and Convention Center Hilton in San Diego, Calif. Azima DLI will be exhibiting at booth #86
