The dam is about 2,600 ft. (800 m2) long, and its installed equipment has maximum power output of 3,100 megawatts (4,200,000 hp), with a record maximum annual power output of 20.000 TWh.

This giant hydroelectric plant was constructed during the 80s and started to be operational mid 90s.

With more than 35,000 maintainable assets on the project, YouBIM will be integrated with IBM Maximo, which is the current CMMS system utilized for maintenance.

EngWorks

First, a REVIT As-Built model will be created. The modeling effort will be developed to focus on facility maintenance purposes. Currently relevant data is partly in IBM Maximo and partly dispersed thus it will need to be collected and organized.

YouBIM

After a successful pilot YouBIM implementation performed last year on one of their maneuver stations, the facility operators are very excited to implement this BIM for FM solution on the entire plant. They believe it will give them quick access to their asset data and location. This will improve the efficiency of their maintenance department by reducing equipment failures that cause emergency repairs. Ultimately, this will lead to longer equipment lives by providing better preventive maintenance and less equipment replacement.

About ENGworks

For more than two decades, ENGworks has continuously developed new processes, tools and services for architects, engineers, contractors, trade contractors, construction managers, manufacturers, as well as owners and operators. Today, ENGworks is an internationally recognized Building Information Modeling (BIM) service and solutions provider with more than 1000 BIM projects completed.

Our goal is to help our clients design and build better projects by saving construction costs and time through implementing the full potential of BIM; we have taken cutting edge technology, sharpened it, and then applied it to everything we know about BIM technology and the AECO Industry.

Our areas of expertise include BIM processes and standards throughout the life cycle of projects: From BIM implementation and training, to BIM content creation, to BIM modeling in multiple platforms (Revit, Bentley, CADmep+, and many others), to BIM coordination, fabrication and shop drawings, to 4D construction scheduling, and through to facilities management.

About YouBIM

YouBIM - BIM for FM Made Easy

YouBIM is a ‘Software as a Service’ (SaaS) Cloud-based solution which extends all the value of BIM through to facilities management, by integrating information and making it instantly available in the form of data-rich online models.

Conducting Asset Criticality Assessment for Better Maintenance Strategy and Techniques

Conducting an asset criticality assessment (ACA) is the first step in maintaining the assets properly. This article addresses the best maintenance strategy for assets by using ACA techniques.

Harmonizing PMs

Maintenance reliability is, of course, an essential part of any successful business that wants to remain successful. It includes the three PMs: predictive, preventive and proactive maintenance.

How an Edge IoT Platform Increases Efficiency, Availability and Productivity

Within four years, more than 30 per cent of businesses and organizations will include edge computing in their cloud deployments to address bandwidth bottlenecks, reduce latency, and process data for decision support in real-time.

6 Signs Your Maintenance Team Needs to Improve Its Safety Culture

When it comes to people and safety in industrial plants, maintenance teams are the ones who are most often in the line of fire and at risk for injury or death.

Making Asset Management Decisions: Caught Between the Push and the Pull

Most senior executives spend years climbing through the operational ranks. In the operational ranks, many transactional decisions are required each day.

Assume the Decision Maker Is Not Stupid to Make Your Communication More Powerful

Many make allowances for decision makers, saying some are “faking it until they make it.” However, this is the wrong default position to take when communicating with decision makers.

Ultrasound for Condition Monitoring and Acoustic Lubrication for Condition-Based Maintenance

With all the hype about acoustic lubrication instruments, you would think these instruments, once turned on, would do the job for you. Far from it!

Maintenance Costs as a Percent of Asset Replacement Value: A Useful Measure?

Someone recently asked for a benchmark for maintenance costs (MC) as a percent of asset replacement value (ARV) for chemical plants, or MC/ARV%.
