CTRL ultrasound technology is integrated as part of an energy savings program to minimize compressor usage through leak detection and save money. As part of the program, customers receive training to learn how to use ultrasound diagnostic equipment, implement routine surveys, and learn proper verification procedures for repairs.
According to the U.S. Department of Energy (DoE), “Leaks are a significant source of wasted energy in a compressed air system, often wasting as much as 20-30% of the compressor’s output.” Further, “The best way to detect leaks is to use an ultrasonic acoustic detector, which can recognize high frequency hissing sounds associated with air leaks.
CTRL’s products and programs are also designed for steam trap monitoring and air leak detection in pressurized systems for plant and facility energy savings. For the home or office, the technology can be used to confirm proper insulation and seals.
“Becoming an ENERGY STAR Partner demonstrates CTRL’s commitment to helping its customers save money and protect the environment by reducing energy consumption,” said Bob Roche, president of CTRL Systems, Inc. “As a Service and Product Provider we will help our customers develop continuous improvement strategies for energy management.”
ENERGY STAR is a joint program of the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency and the Department of Energy helping commercial facilities save money and protect the environment through energy efficient products and practices.
