eAsset Management Limited today announces the appointment of Len Porter

Len has specific experience of small business growth having successfully grown his own business Marine Offshore Management (MOM) from a start up to a respected international business and subsequently to successful sale.

eAssetM has brought Len in as a Non-Executive Chairman to provide governance experience in these areas as we enter a phase of rapid growth.

At Lloyd’s Register (LR) he completed a comprehensive review of services and introduced LR to asset management and the concept of asset integrity

assurance and verification in order to effect a change from a prescriptive standards based approach to a more modern risk based approach.

This included initiating the early work on asset management leading to the production of the first edition of PAS 55.

Len also developed the LR strategy for penetrating the UK and global rail markets and raising awareness of LR in the rail sector at all levels in government, the regulator, major infrastructure and operating companies.

At RSSB he drove the rail industry’s awareness of the need for systems thinking and strengthened the company’s ability to underpin some of the industry’s most sensitive system safety and business critical decision making.

The associated strategic review and change management exercise drove through fundamental upgrades in interface standards thinking, the company industry risk models and safety management information systems. Initiating the industry’s Sustainable Rail Programme was a major initiative leading to the development of SD principles that became embedded in government specification and subsequent industry strategic business planning.

At MOM he lead the development of the first risk based asset integrity management initiatives that were then coded into applications software that became the industry standard and leader for several years.

Paul Scott, CEO of eAssetM, commented: “I am delighted to welcome Len to the Board of eAssetM. He brings significant experience of asset management in asset intensive industries across a variety of sectors and will further strengthen eAssetM’s Board. I am confident that he will make an invaluable contribution to our Board deliberations and to the development of the business during this period of rapid growth.
