The 2014 Thomson Reuters Journal Citation Reports® (JCR), a quantitative ranking, evaluation and comparison of journals, rated ISA Transactions nearly 40 percent higher than the previous year. The JCR rankings measure the Impact Factor, the frequency with which the average journal article has been cited up to two years after publication. Since 1975, the Impact Factor has been relied upon as an indicator of professional journal relevance and importance.

In the 2014 JCR rankings, ISA Transactions is listed in two categories: “Engineering, Multi-disciplinary” and “Instrument & Instrumentation.” In the “Engineering, Multi-Disciplinary” category, ISA Transactions ranks 11th out of 87 journals. In the “Instruments & Instrumentation” category, ISA Transactions ranks 9th out of 57 journals. The 2014 rankings in both categories reveal significant year-over-year improvement.
