Kony Announces the Industry’s Most Comprehensive Portfolio for Building and Managing Mobile Ap

Mobile application development has become a top concern for enterprises and their CIOs. According to Gartner’s 2012 CIO Survey, 61% of respondents plan to enhance their mobility capability during the next three years, and 48% believe they will become leaders in their industries by fully adopting innovative mobility solutions. Gartner further states “increasingly, enterprises are looking for a single MADP that can address most, if not all, of their future projects across all scenarios and meet requirements for B2C, B2B and B2E projects.”

“The world’s largest enterprises partner with Kony to build, deploy and manage mobile applications that work elegantly across multiple devices and channels both as native and web apps. The complexity of development and deployment, security and management of applications in the lifecycle across various endpoints and the constantly evolving mobile landscape are big enterprise concerns, as well as the wave of demand for BYOD,” said Raj Koneru, Kony’s CEO. “The new technologies and solutions we’re announcing today will help enterprises stay ahead of the technology curve with multi-channel development and deployment while using the KonyOne standards-based and open platform in addition to immediately implementing BYOD with enhanced security and management capabilities. The next technology wave of multi-channel development enables enterprises to be nimble and deploy any application—native & web across all endpoints—mobile, tablet, web and desktop, enabling them to significantly leapfrog the competition.”

Today’s announcements include:

* Kony Mobile App Manager, a versatile mobile application management (MAM) offering that eases the IT management workload and improves security for B2E deployments. Kony’s MAM allows enterprises to build, deploy and manage the full range of mobile applications, including pre-packaged apps, customized or third-party apps.

* Enhancements to the company’s flagship KonyOne(TM)Platform, including support for JavaScript as a scripting language and enhanced ability to import and use any third-party libraries or components.

* Six new pre-packaged and customizable mobile business applications for quick deployment, such as Mobile HR, Mobile CRM, Mobile Field Service and Mobile Asset Management.

* Kony Sync and Enterprise Connectors, to enable connectivity into proprietary ERP or CRM systems as well enabling offline and sync functionality to manage field level data and integrate back to host systems.

Each of the new solutions leverages Kony’s open, standards-based architecture to enable multi-channel application development, deployment and management across all devices, channels, and deployment modes, including HTML5 mobile web, native, hybrid and mixed-mode.

Kony Mobile App Manager

It delivers unprecedented flexibility and control for managing business operations across mobile devices, with features including policy management, user authentication and identification, mobile device management (MDM), and a centralized, Web-based console for policy management, security binding, analysis and auditing.

New KonyOne 5.0

The KonyOne Platform has been extended to offer full JavaScript scripting support for building HTML5, native, hybrid, and mixed-mode apps with a single code base across the company’s support of all smartphones, feature phones, kiosks and tablets, including iOS, Android, BlackBerry, and Windows Phone devices. The platform also provides enhanced support for third-party libraries and widgets, including HTML5 libraries like JQuery and Sencha, which can be integrated into Kony apps during application development. KonyOne Platform customers can also build full featured, Single Page Application (SPA) based mobile/Tablet/Desktop Web applications using the same single platform and codebase.

The company’s new Kony Sync platform component delivers full bi-directional synchronization to enable offline applications and to ensure data integrity in synchronized applications. New enterprise connectors including SAP ERP & CRM, Oracle PeopleSoft, Oracle Siebel, and Microsoft SharePoint, enable businesses to push back-office functionality to mobile devices for enhanced employee productivity and effectiveness.
