LumaSense Technologies Acquires Thermal-Imaging and Services Assets of LA-based Reliability Point

SANTA CLARA, Calif.,- LumaSense Technologies has acquired the thermal imaging and services assets of Louisiana-based Reliability Point, which provides an array of equipment and related services to diversified industrial manufacturers in the Gulf Coast region and Southeastern United States. The acquisition allows LumaSense to enhance sales, support, and aftermarket services for its line of thermal imaging devices, such as infrared cameras used in industrial plants.

“For the last five years, Reliability Point and LumaSense have worked closely together on a number of industrial thermal imaging projects. This acquisition is a natural evolution of our business relationship that will enable us to provide even better service to our customers,” said Bob Arnold, president of Reliability Point.

Reliability Point customers include steel, oil and gas, petrochemical, and other process manufacturers, as well as power generation companies, located in Texas, Louisiana, Arkansas and the Carolinas. Reliability Point will retain its other distribution arms, which include vibration instrumentation, precision laser systems, corona cameras, and others.

“Reliability Point is one of the most-trusted and respected names in this region because of its strong aftermarket product services and support programs,” said Vivek Joshi, CEO of LumaSense Technologies. “Our greatest strength is helping our customers improve their resource and asset efficiency by helping them better understand their difficult-to-measure processes. Combining that strength with Reliability Point’s services will help those manufacturers sustain the production improvements they achieve with our technology for the long term.”

LumaSense develops a variety of products and services that measure temperature and gas in industrial facilities. The company’s line of thermal imaging technology includes detectors, modules and cameras that monitor temperature in markets such as energy, industrial, and clean technology.
