To maintain the AS9100 certification initially obtained in 2009, Meggitt Sensing Systems underwent a thorough audit of the Germantown, Maryland facility to ensure that quality management goals are measureable and achievable. Implementing AS9100 improves overall efficiency and productivity, reducing waste and product defects, resulting in fewer complaints. Faster delivery and consistent production and verification processes ensure that customers receive the highest quality product. DNV Certifications conducted the review in accordance with the AS9100 requirements to maintain the validity of the registration and to upgrade the certification status from rev B to rev C. Employees, procedures, and operations were assessed to verify that quality assurance practices meet the requirements of the AS9100 Aerospace Standard for Quality Systems, a vital prerequisite to providing products to the aerospace market.

Wilcoxon Research product lines are manufactured in Maryland through the effective application of the AS9100 and ISO 9001:2008 systems. “Offering Wilcoxon Research products, which are designed, developed and manufactured under these standards demonstrates our ability to provide products that meet customer and regulatory requirements,” said John Churchill, Quality Assurance Director, “our commitment to continuous improvement is driven by our customers, who deserve and expect the best from us.” Meggitt’s dedication to aerospace and industrial customers alike is demonstrated by the Germantown facility’s dual registration to the ISO 9001 Quality Management System, which was originally obtained in 1998. In alignment with ISO 9001:2008 which covers industrial products, the AS9100 certification has additional requirements of special concern to the aerospace and defense markets.
