Fort Myers, FL (PRWeb) October 7, 2009 - announced UltrasoundWeek, a 3 day focused learning and networking event relating to the technologies and applications of airborne and structure borne ultrasound.

The conference is scheduled to take place February 9-11, 2010. Details at

Ultrasonic detection is a rapidly growing technology area for predictive maintenance and involves the use of portable hand-held instruments to detect sounds in the range of 20 kilohertz (kHz) to 200 kilohertz (kHz). Applications include roller element bearing fault detection, lubrication monitoring, compressed air leak detection, steam trap testing, electrical detection of corona discharge and arcing, valve bypass detection and boiler, heat exchanger and condenser tube leak detection among others. Industrial facilities and public organizations have documented savings of tens of thousands of dollars in lost energy due to compressed air and gasses as well as bypassing steam traps and valves making ultrasound one of the most powerful Green technologies available to maintenance professionals.

An active call for papers is open through November 2, 2009.

“This is the first conference scheduled to take place at the newly opened Reliability Performance Institute, a state of the art digital media learning center attached to the and Uptime Magazine headquarters building.” says Terrence O’Hanlon, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer. “It is also perfectly aligned with our mission to expand awareness and possibility to spread the word about Green Reliability to our 55,000 members and readers around the world.”

The Reliability Performance Institute is located in’s newly acquired and renovated 10,000 square foot corporate headquarters and learning center near the I-75 corridor and Daniels Parkway just minutes from Southwest Florida International Airport in Fort Myers, Florida.

Fort Myers is home to the Minnesota Twins and Boston Red Sox spring baseball training facilities, Everblades ECHL Hockey (Florida Panther and Carolina Hurricane Affiliate) and offers some of the best sports fishing and Top 10 Travel Channel beaches in world with Sanibel, Captiva and Marco Island just minutes away. The everglades are within a one hour drive, Tampa and Miami are within a two hour drive and Orlando is a three hour drive.

Focusing on the industrial maintenance and reliability community, core values include contributing knowledge through publishing with an online community of over 55,000 members worldwide, Uptime Magazine, a bi monthly publication with over 75,000 readers in print and digital editions, and a Book Publishing division. also produces several learning conferences annually including the longest running maintenance focused event in the world, IMC-2009 the 24th International Maintenance Conference.
