Reliabilityweb.com CEO to Represent USA on International Standards Group

Reliabilityweb.com CEO Terrence O’Hanlon has been selected to represent the United States on a new International Organization for Standardization (ISO) group in Geneva, Switzerland.

O’Hanlon will be on ISO Working Group 39, which will develop ISO/IEC 17021-5 requirements for auditing and certification of asset management systems. The meeting will take place Feb. 25 through March 1 at the ISO Central Secretariat in Geneva.

“There has been a tremendous three year effort by people from over 28 countries to create what will become the ISO-55000 Asset Management Standard in early 2014, ” O’Hanlon said. “17021-5 is working on an International Standard to ensure the competencies required for organizations that will provide assessment and certification for Asset Management.”

The International Standards Organization develops and publishes international standards that ensure products and services are safe, reliable and of good quality.
