Silicon Designs Announces New China Sales Representatives

In this new role for SDI, Shanghai Nova Instruments Co. Ltd. will be actively selling and promoting the company’s MEMS variable capacitive accelerometer modules and chips for low-to-medium frequency instrumentation applications, as well as the new Model 3330 G-logger USB based data acquisition system with onboard FFT analysis capabilities.

Headquartered in Shanghai, Shanghai Nova Instruments Limited is a leading high-technology manufacturer’s representative. The company integrates research, development, production, and sales activities,  focusing mainly on accelerometers, inertial measurement technologies and gas sensors. In addition to its sales expertise, the company provides direct engineering R&D support, as well as device test, production,  and storage, to its diverse and rapidly growing customer base.  Headquartered in Shanghai, the company primarily supplies to the defense electronics, rail/metro/bridge monitoring, construction machinery, and manufacturing industries.

With more than a decade of field-proven MEMS VC accelerometer applications experience, Shanghai Nova Instruments Co. Ltd. will be offering to customers in China the benefits of local technical sales support for their plant vibration monitoring, automotive NVH testing,  crash event detection, civil structure monitoring, seismic, aircraft flight and flutter testing, rail vibration monitoring,  and wind turbine monitoring applications, as well as other general test &  measurement requirements, all featuring the use of Silicon Designs product technologies.

Based near Seattle, Washington, the privately held Silicon Designs was established in 1983, with the goal of improving accepted industry design standards for MEMS variable capacitive accelerometers. At that time,  typical industrial-grade accelerometers were bulky, highly fragile and costly. SDI listened to the needs of customers who called for more compact, sensitive, rugged and reasonably priced MEMS capacitive modules, chips and data acquisition systems, yet ones still offering high-performance for a lower overall cost per measurement channel. With the customer’s expressed feedback in mind, resultant product lines were designed and built to surpass expectations. The company has since grown steadily over the years, though its core competency remains MEMS-based accelerometers, with the philosophy of “Make it better, stronger,  smaller and less expensive” maintained to this day.
