For example, a customer who has previously just purchased bearings and seals from SKF can raise the bar and ask us to help cut operational costs or improve availability or just about anything else to make their plants run more efficiently. We are not saying we are experts in every single facet of the lifecycle. It is just that we understand so much more than most of our customers realise, and we want them to challenge us and demand more.”
SKF Solution Factory is a concept that brings together not only SKF’s entire service offering, but also the company’s five technical platforms: bearings, seals, services, lubrication and mechatronics. This will give customers around the world access to a unique process and wide range of application knowledge-all under one roof. Typical services are within lubrication solutions, sealing solutions, remanufacturing of bearings, spindle service and other mechanical services as well as remote monitoring, project management and training.
More locations will be added in the years to come and the SKF Solution Factories worldwide will ultimately work together, sharing experience and knowledge, with common standards.
