Entergy Nuclear, Waterford 3. This plant was honored by Power Engineering magazine and PennWell Corporation at the Power-Gen and Nuclear Power International Conferences for its use of SmartSignal and was named one of the Best Nuclear Projects of the Year worldwide. NV Energy-Walter M. Higgins Generating Station. The Combustion Turbine Operations Task Force (CTOTF) and Combined Cycle Journal recently honored this plant for being among the “best of the best.” NV Energy-Walter M. Higgins won the Best Practices Award in the O&M: Business category for “implementation of a grassroots, condition-based maintenance program that identifies critical equipment for effective predictive and scheduled maintenance. Its development of a work management strategy, re-evaluated monthly, ensures effective and timely maintenance.” NV Energy’s nomination, published in the Q1 2010 Combined Cycle Journal, explains that it accomplished this by training “Predictive Maintenance Champions” in various areas, including usage of SmartSignal. This program is critical to their availability and reliability.
Entergy Fossil. Entergy Fossil was recognized by the Southeastern Electrical Exchange in June, 2010 with its prestigious Industry Excellence Award, making Entergy the sole winner in the production category for its “online monitoring process case studies.” This award was based on achievements, innovation, improvements, requirements met, and technical complexity. This is the second recent recognition for Entergy-it also was featured in POWER magazine for its “Big Catch” using SmartSignal-saving Entergy $15-35 million.
