The Society for Maintenance and Reliability Professionals Certifying Organization (SMRPCO) is pleased to announce that the Certified Maintenance and Reliability Professional (CMRP) certification program has been approved by the Department of Veteran’s Affairs and will be added to their list of certification exams that military personnel and Veterans can be reimbursed for.
“We are very excited about this new opportunity to both expand our certification program and to also offer our internationally recognized program to those who have served our country,” said SMRPCO Chairman, Greg Yeager, “this is just the first step in a new effort to reach out to and support our service men and women.”
Director of Certification, Ramesh Gulati, said, “SMRP is really going to be taking a hard look over the next year at how we can reach out to those who serve as we feel they could be the future of the maintenance and reliability workforce.”
The CMRP exam is accredited by the American National Standards Institute (ANSI) under the ISO 17024 standards for a Personnel Certification Program and is taken by over 1,000 candidates every year and there are currently close to 3,000 CMRPs in over 40 countries world wide.
