Implementation of the SaaSMaint solution not only affords Transtelco better management of asset maintenance but it also prevents service outages by enabling the company to perform preventive rather than corrective maintenance on its equipment.

“SaaSMaint CMMS / EAM is an indispensable solution for our infrastructure managers,” said Rolando Gutierrez, Infrastructure Manager of Transtelco. “They are moving from tracking tasks in Microsoft Outlook and other inadequate solutions to a consistent, comprehensive framework that tracks and documents our assets and related maintenance. And since they’re now working on preventive instead of corrective maintenance, the direct impact has been a reduction in service outages for our clients.”

Transtelco uses CMMS / EAM to generate preventive maintenance reminders throughout Transtelco’s operation and to track work performed, which enables authorized individuals to view and pull asset histories. Both of these functions previously required manual intervention. CMMS / EAM also enables Transtelco to aggregate maintenance and routine jobs by location, enabling technicians to service multiple assets in the same location during a single trip.

CMMS / EAM has provided unexpected benefits to Transtelco, as well. “We have implemented the work management, reporting, and planning /scheduling features of CMMS / EAM, which lets us manage the efforts of technicians working in the field,” Iglesias said.

Transtelco implemented CMMS / EAM first in its Mexicali/El Centro and Juarez/El Paso areas, and has since added in other major metropolitan service areas. The company plans to roll out additional cities, soon.

“SaaSMaint CMMS /EAM includes robust tools for maintenance management and tracking of assets at disparate locations typically included in much higher priced offerings,” explains Michael Edwards, founder of SaasMaint.com. “Further the per-seat subscription-based pricing model provides important flexibility for our users like Transtelco deploying a phased model.”
