Uptime Magazine Announces Best Maintenance Reliability Program Award Winners for 2012!

Uptime Award for Maintenance Reliability Best PracticesWinners will be honored in a special award ceremony at Reliabilityweb.com’s 27th International Maintenance Conference (IMC-2012) being held December 4-7, 2012 at the beautiful Hyatt Regency Coconut Point in Bonita Springs, Florida. This year’s event will be a visually pleasing Black and White affair with a reception following the ceremony.  Each winner will also present an overview of their program during the conference where they will share the strategies, techniques and tools used in their journey to high-performance reliability.

“Reliability, safety and profit are all aligned and these best practice organizations are leading the way.  Even though some organizations may still not practice proactive reliability approaches, it has been shown to have a direct effect on safety by eliminating defects and reducing emergency situations,” states Uptime Magazine Publisher and CEO Terrence O’Hanlon.  “In addition this special group of maintenance reliability professionals help their organizations meet the triple bottom line of economic prosperity, environmental stewardship and social responsibility by managing physical assets in a responsible way.”

Uptime Magazine’s Maintenance Reliability Program Awards recognize organizations that demonstrate excellence in managing equipment reliability using advanced strategies and high tech sensing technologies to determine the early onset of a potential failure.  2012 Uptime Magazine’s Maintenance Reliability Program Award winners are:

  • Westar Energy - Best Maintenance Reliability Program
  • Luminant Mining - Best Condition Monitoring Program
  • Ultra Tech Cement Limited (Unit: Aditya Cement Works) - Best Emerging Maintenance Reliability Program

“In recent years we have noticed many companies have created new C-Level positions such as Chief Mechanical Officer (CMO), and new Vice President titles and roles such as VP Asset Management, Vice President Reliability and Vice President Maintenance as acknowledgment of proactive maintenance reliability as an enabler of productivity and profit rather than the outdated context of maintenance as a cost center. They also recognize the contribution that higher reliability makes to safety,” continued O’Hanlon. “It is very satisfying for us to provide visibility for these superior programs so that more reliability improvements can be leveraged both inside and outside of winning organizations.”

Since 2006, Uptime Magazine has honored some of the most outstanding high-performance maintenance teams in the world for the results they produce with the Uptime Best Maintenance Reliability Program Awards.  What began as a simple way to acknowledge special accomplishments has evolved into a valuable reliability improvement exercise as everyone who participates in the Uptime Award evaluation process discovers program benefit and performance improvements.

Nominations for the 2013 Best Maintenance Reliability Program Awards may be submitted beginning March 1, 2013.  Visit www.uptimeawards.com for further information.
